Day 29 (1/29/11)

We introduced Li to a new toy today. A "workbench" set that includes a hammer! Fuzzface and Yaya picked it out for him before he was born. I figured with Li's newfound sitting skills, he'd be able to actually play with it. See for yourself how much he likes it:

He and I also had storytime this morning. Everyday I try to read at least one book to him; today's was "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak!

Day 28 (1/28/11)

Today we learned that when Liam gets in a fight with an SD card, the SD card will win. At least when he throws his head backwards into it as it sticks out of my laptop.

My poor baby's battle wound!

On a much happier note, my little guy is 24 weeks old today (and chewing on his shark)!

Day 27 (1/27/11)

My little man thinks he's so smooth! He took a moment to cheese me up while trying to eat my pajama pants!

Day 26 (1/26/11)

We decided to try something new for lunch, other then just plain ol Momma Milk: Sweet Potatoes! While he certainly made some faces while trying it out, he really liked them and kept trying to helping me feed him by shoving the spoon into his mouth!

Day 25 (1/25/11)

Today was more of a chill day for the Bubba. He spent the morning with Fuzz Face, and when he wasn't sleeping, he pretty much was either fussy or just kind of sitting there. When I got home, he was upset that I had been gone and super clingy. After a good nursing session and a nap, he was a much happier baby!

Before he cheered up!

Day 24 (1/24/11)

We tried out Li's new cloth diaper, an AIO from HippieMade off Etsy. The pattern was just too cute to pass up!

Day 23 (1/23/11)

Today was supposed to be a day to meet Liams Gee Gee Judy and Pop Pop Pete, but they had to cancel due to ice where they live. Instead, we went to Grandma's house for lunch and somebody decided he no longer wanted to sit down, but rather stand up!

Day 22 (1/22/11)

Today was freezing out, so it was definitely a stay inside and play day! We ended up getting rid of Liam's exersaucer because no matter how much we cleaned it, it still had an odd smell to it that just wouldn't leave. We're going to be picking up a new one for him soon and are looking into which style to get, so there will be new exersaucer pictures posted of that once we pick it up! M got Liam dressed today, and if I may say, he did a pretty good job! Here's my handsome man playing with his blocks!

I couldn't decide which picture to share, so I figured I'd use both!

To my readers, please feel free to leave comments and say hi! I know you're out there, don't be shy! I'd love to hear from you!

Day 21 (1/21/11)

Liam had his first food (for the second time) tonight. Guacamole. Yup, thats right; my little Irish boy had Mexican as his first (non-mom) meal! He absolutely loved it. We fed him off our fingers, as you can see from the picture, and he was so excited that he'd yank our hand into his mouth with so much force I was scared he'd hurt himself! Pretty soon we're going to introduce cereal to him, the timing is dependent on when we actually remember to pick it up while we're at the store. When he's ready, his pedi wants us to give him organic brown rice cereal because it is the least likely to cause an allergic reaction. Looks like we'll be picking that up soon, because I think our baby boy is ready!

Please excuse the quality of the picture, the camera was on the wrong setting for the lighting we had going on in the living room!

Happy 23 weeks Liam Michael!

Day 20 (1/20/11)

I've been working on a Valentine's Day project with Li and decided that today's picture would be a sneak peek at that. I'll share the other pictures on a more appropriate date, you know, like Valentine's Day! Enjoy!

Day 19 (1/19/11)

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present Liam's first tooth!

It has been hiding out under the gums for quite some time now and last night it decided to make an appearance! I'm really happy its out, but it is a sharp little bugger!

In other news, we attempted a back carry in our Babyhawk Mei Tai today and I think it can be considered pretty successful. The baby didn't fall out, nor did he cry! He pretty much sat there, alternating which shoulder of mine to look over and chewing on my hair. I believe we'll be trying this again :)

Day 18 (1/18/11)

Today wasnt the day for a great picture. That being said, I have an announcement to make:

Liam has a tooth! Pictures to follow on Day 19!

Looking in the mirror with Grandma!

Day 17 (1/17/11)

Who loves to sit and play with his Penguin? Thats right, Liam!

Day 16 (1/16/11)

Today was sunday, so it was back to Grandma's house! Liam totally showed off his sitting skills, all the while laughing at Grandma behind my back.

Day 15 (1/15/11)

We're gonna need a bigger boat...

It seems that Liam is just about too big for his carseat. I guess its time to go shopping!

Just Momma and her boy!

Day 14 (1/14/11)

We spent the evening at YaYa and Fuzzface's house and Liam had a blast! This kid just loves his grandparents!

Our little guy is still teething (nothing has popped out yet, but you can see it under the gums!) and he discovering all different things he can gnaw on to relieve the pain:

like large water bottles

or glass root beer bottles

Happy 22 weeks Liam!

Day 13 (1/13/11)

Today, while vacuuming, Liam was in his exersaucer and watching my every move. This kid was fasinated with the vacuum, his head literelly followed it around the entire room. I decided to let him check it out and he was just amazed!

5 months ago day, we welcomed our little boy into our arms! Happy 5 months Liam!

Day 12 (1/12/11)

I've been waiting for the skies to open up and do more then just slightly "sneeze" on us. If I have to live in an area where it snows, I want a picture of Liam in the snow. More then once I've woken up to a pretty dusting of snow on the ground, and by the time I'm ready to take the boy outside, its all gone. When I heard we were supposed to get up to 5 inches last night, I got really excited and crossed my fingers. Well, I woke up this morning to 2 inches of beautiful, white fluffy stuff! Whats even better, is it stayed around long enough for me to use the evening light to get some photos of the boy in the snow! Enjoy!
"But it's cold Daddy!"

We tried to get him to sit down, he refused to bend his legs so he ended up on his back! Trust me, he did it to himself!

His backside after forcing him to lay down.

He was not pleased we took him outside!

Day 11 (1/11/11)

My poor baby boy is teething! Nothing broken through yet, but he's definitely got something going on under those gums! Today was a quieter day for the dude, he had lots of happy moments, lots of "ouchie" moments and quite a few snuggles.

Nap time with mommy!

Day 10 (1/10/11)

In our house, we do a combo of crib and co-sleeping. At bedtime, Li goes to sleep in his crib and when he wakes up 3, 4, 5hrs later, we pull him into bed with us, nurse and pass out. When he wakes up and is ready to play but its too early, we give him his seahorse to play with. Man does this boy love his seahorse! You press its stomach and it glows softly (the stomach) and plays lullabies. Most mornings Liam falls back asleep no problem. He likes to play with it for a few minutes, chewing on it, snuggling it, and then the magic works and he passes out!

Just a boy and his seahorse!

Day 9 (1/9/11)

Every Sunday, Liam goes to hangs out with his Grandma (M's mom) while M and I are at work. Things are always interesting at Grandma's, there are always people around, like Pampa and various aunts, uncles and cousins, so Liam always has someone to play with!

On our way to Grandma's!

Day 8 (1/8/11)

Yesterday was going to be a quiet day around here, but then we decided to be sociable. Our day started off waking up to half an inch of snow on ground. I wanted to take our daily picture out in the snow, but by the time I would have been ready it was already melted :( Instead, we spent our morning being lazy, watching movies and playing with Liam.

According M, Fuzz Face and YaYa (my mother), Li has found and sucked on his toes several times. I just had to take their word for it because I'd never seen it. Until today!

Liam and M were snuggling on the couch and I looked over and he had his foot in his mouth! It was so exciting (to me anyway)!

M's aunt was throwing a small get together that afternoon, so we figured we'd stop by and visit (this starts the sociable part of the day). It was a lot of fun, but we ended up leaving earlier then I would have liked. Our reason for leaving was to go and have dinner with Pampa, aka Liam's birthday buddy (Liam was born on Pampa's [M's grandfather] 81st birthday). Dinner was really nice, it was Pampa, Grandma, M's cousin Kacee who is visiting from the desert, Liam, M and myself. After dinner, we continued our sociable day.

Our last stop was at the house of one of M and my's favorite people. Linda and Barry. I don't know what it is about them, but I always feel so much better after visiting with them. They just have an amazing energy that they share with everyone! Aside from stopping by just to stay hi, we were there for their daughter Rhia to meet Liam. Rhia was one of my bridesmaids in our wedding, and she had yet to meet Liam. Until last night. And of course she's on her way back to school now and wont see him again until the summer, but at least she got to see him as a 'little' baby!

Day 7 (1/7/11)

Today was a much better day for my little man! Grandpa Fuzz Face (my father) helps us out and watches Liam on mornings when M and I both work. Liam is Fuzz Face's "first mate" and is completely crazy for my father. I mean, this child just lights up when he see him, its so sweet!

Once M and I were both home from work, we took a nice long 2 hr walk around the "neighborhood." I use that term loosely, as we currently live in an apartment complex that backs up to a shopping center, with another shopping center literally across the street.

Liam decided to play in the clothes on the bed before we left for our walk. Silly baby!

Our walk was really nice, although COLD considering it was 31 degrees. We stayed warm though, Liam was snuggled nicely against M in our Babyhawk!

My handsome boys!

One more thing: today Li is 21 weeks old! Where did the time go?!?!

Day 6 (1/6/11)

Apparently today was a hard day for my little man while I was at work. M said he barely ate, was sad and cried a lot and spent a good portion of the time looking around (for me, he assumes). Once I got home, Liam nursed for a little bit, then was happy and ready to play! I guess my little guy really did missed me!
One of the few things that kept Li from crying during the morning was being in his exersaucer. Since it is rapidly becoming one of his favorite toys in our place, I figured I'd better document how much he enjoys it. Thus today's pictures!

Having a ball!

"Oh hai Mom!"

Day 5 (1/5/11)

Today was a family day. M and I were both off work, so we spent a portion of the day just lazing about, a portion cleaning out our loft (an everlasting work in progress), a portion going for a nice long walk and a portion visiting with M's family. And of course playing with Liam all day long! We introduced him to his exersaucer today and he absolutely loved it! Pictures from today are from M and Liam playing before going on our walk this afternoon. This kid just loves his father, as you can obviously tell!

Day 4 (1/4/11)

Even though we got some shots at the doctors last night, aside from being super sleepy, Liam has been in a really good mood the majority of the day! Go Li!

Those of you who know me, know I'm a bit on the "natural/organic if possible" side of life, or at least I aim to be. Part of my goals in 2011 is to do my best to try buy local, organic and healthy food and upcycle unwanted things, among other things. One of them is to switch Liam over to the cloth-side. Cloth diapering that is. CDing today is waaayyy different then it was back in the day. Our stash is very small right now, we only have 3 GroVia shells and 9 inserts, although I will be expanding it as finances allow!

Todays pictures show off one of his CDs!
